Dr. Jagpal is a Research Associate at the University of Bath working on PT2.1: Advanced Solid-state Storage, PI: Prof. Mays. Rajan is skilled in hydrogen storage materials, dry carbon fibre preforming, and Bayesian Optimisation. Raj previously collaborated with Prof. Tim Mays on novel cryogenic forming methods for adsorbent composites for hydrogen storage.
His PhD, sponsored by GKN Aerospace, investigated how machine learning algorithms could accelerate composite part production. Raj has also researched the influence and failure mechanics of carbon nanotubes on the flexural strength of hollow carbon fibre beams. Further to research he has also spent four years assisting award winning MSc courses on project and change management.
His interests span innovations, materials, engineering, automation, AI, and manufacturing, making him a multifaceted asset to UK-HyRES.
